A. Manufacturer
1. Design is based on products manufactured by Durable Corporation, 75 North Pleasant Street, Norwalk, OH 44857.
2. Type: Loading dock bumper shall be a laminated rubber bumper with fabric-reinforced rubber pads laminated between structural steel angles, secured with 3/4" steel supporting rods; anchor bolts protected by rubber.
B. Product Characteristics
1. Product: Laminated Dock Bumper — Model B610-12.
2. Projection from dock face: 6". Vertical height: 10". Rubber width: 8". Bolt hole centers: 12". Overall width: 14".
3. All bumpers shall be 6" thick (projection from dock) and closed with two 1/4" × 3" × 4" × 9-1/2" structural steel angles under approximately 1,500 lbs of pressure. The angles are welded to 3/4" rods at one end and closed with threaded rod and nut at the other. The laminated section is through-bolted with 2 carriage bolts at positions matching the anchor bolt locations.
4. The anchor leg of each angle extends a minimum of 3" beyond the rubber surface and contains 2 13/16" anchor bolt holes.
5. Weight: approximately 27 lbs.
6. Finish for exposed metal parts: black, or hot-dipped galvanized (additional cost).

D. Submittals
Submit manufacturer’s data sheets including preparation instructions, storage/handling requirements, and installation methods, under provisions of Section 01300.
E. Warranty
Durable Corporation warrants this bumper against defective workmanship and material for five (5) years from date of purchase. Product damage from unusual abuse, improper installation, or other external factors is not covered. Adjustments under this warranty after two (2) years are made on a pro-rated basis. Remedy is limited to a replacement bumper of the same specifications; Durable is not responsible for additional costs incurred, including installation.
F. Execution
Install in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. Position bumpers as indicated on drawings. Secure angle end frames to dock face of: concrete, steel angle embedded in concrete, steel plate embedded in concrete, or timber. Do not begin installation until substrates are properly prepared; notify Architect of unsatisfactory substrate preparation before proceeding. Protect installed products until Substantial Completion; touch up, repair, or replace damaged products before turnover.
